We sponsor three annual events at which our members can get together, enjoy each others company and show our unified support for our County’s outstanding Sheriff’s Department. The purpose of all fund-raising events and activities is to assist our local Sheriff’s Department and all other law enforcement agencies in the County.

Sheriff's Family Day at the Ranch
Sheriff’s Family Day at the Ranch is a fun community event hosted by the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Advisory Council (SAC). The event is held annually on the third Saturday in September at the Madonna Inn field area next to  Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo.

The event is free to people of all ages and is intended to entertain and educate the public on the positive role that our local law enforcement and safety personnel play in our community, including the display of their equipment and demonstrations.

Family Day allows attendees the opportunity to participate in different activities and experience first hand the excitement and satisfaction of coming to the aid of others. It offers those who are considering public service as a career the chance to speak with other people who are already doing the job.

For children, we offer DARE wrist bands, Sheriff’s sticker badges, and FREE hot dogs & soft drinks for children under 12.

Installation of Officers

Annual Fund-raising Event
The Sheriff’s Advisory Council Fundraiser is held annually on the third Sunday in May. This year’s event will be held on May 20th at McLintock’s in Shell Beach. The event offers music, a Santa Maria style BBQ, Live Auction, Silent Auction, and raffle prizes. Funds generated go towards scholarships for children of law enforcement parents, as well as, fulfilling the financial needs of local law enforcement.

Installation of Officers Dinner
The Sheriff’s Advisory Council Installation Dinner is a coming together for the Board and membership to acknowledge and swear in the new Officers for the coming year. This event takes place annually and is an important part of the representative aspect of the Sheriff's Advisory Council.
